International Cultural Dance Experiences
The late Shirley Hall Bass founder of the Bahamas Dance Theatre began the Exchange Program in 1968. Initially these programs were held alternately between Nassau and Chicago, however, over the years, it has been conducted in Peoria, Illinois; Freeport, Bahamas; Paris, France; Dallas, Texas; and Nashville, Tennessee.
The program has been a tremendous success, allowing children of all economic and social backgrounds to enjoy the fine arts for more than 40 years. It is our desire to provide an opportunity for all of the students of the school to participate in the International Cultural Dance Exchange by continuing to sponsor such educational programs.
Mrs. Lindsey was on the choreography team for the 2008 Independence Day Celebration in Nassau, and several students from Malone Studios Dance Academy have been selected to perform at the countries proud event. Malone Studios were guest performers at Bahamas 45th Independence celebration in July 2013.
Malone Studios was proud to perform with the Bahamas All Stars Marching Band for 2014 Macy’s Parade in New York City, as well as participate in the 2017 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland.
